Wakelin's shop was originally a butchers selling only fresh meat, but
as time has gone on and trends have changed, Wakelins Butcher's has
also had to change. Now you can buy a wide range of quality products,
ranging from Fresh Meat & Fish through to Chocolates direct from
Belgium. Traditional food such as pâtés is supplied by Patchwork.
The shop is run by Ken Wakelin who is ably assisted by his wife, two
eldest sons and daughter in-law. The shop has its own Kitchen/
Bakehouse in which a wide range of products are produced. These include
Home-made Meat Pies, Scotch Eggs & Cornish Pasties. Fresh Fruit
& Vegetables bought from local farms or direct from Covent Garden
are also part of the wide range of products they supply to the local
community. And still another venture has arisen - Wakelins are now
selling a wide range of Fresh Baked Bread Products .
Wakelins is in the heart of Wye and its friendly staff are always
willing to help, so please call in next time you visit our little
village.
