The
Wife of Bath was converted from the
village Doctors house over thirty
years ago and the Restaurant still
retains that homely feel. Built in 1760,
the timber-framed house stands in
Wyes historic main street which
leads down to the trout-filled River
Stour.Listed in all the major
restaurant guides, The Wife of Bath
continues to have an enviable reputation
for the superb modern English cuisine,
created and prepared by chef, Robert
Hymers.
The Wife of Bath has five comfortable
bedrooms, ideal if you are exploring.
Kent, if you are en route to the
Continent, or if you want to enjoy a
really good meal without the worry of the
drive home.
Each charming oak-beamed room is named
after a pilgrim in Chaucers
Canterbury Tales and individually
furnished with a very personal touch. All
rooms have remote control colour TV,
direct-dial telephone, hairdryer and tea
and coffee making facilities. The
Yeomans room boasts a splendid four
poster bed and all rooms have an en
suite bath or shower room. In the
converted stables, the Knights and
Millers rooms share a small kitchen
with all your needs for a continental
breakfast, ideal if you are planning an
early start. For business people there is
a small room available for pre-lunch or
dinner meetings.
