Business Association: Events |

Every year the Wye Business Association hosts at least one village event. These events provide fun and entertainment for the whole family. They very effectively
fulfill all the aims of the WBA by promoting the businesses, increasing the sense of community within Wye and promoting the village itself. The Christmas Street Party has now become our regular annual event linking nicely with the village Christmas Lights which are provided by the Wye Business Association.
These events are also good opportunities to raise funds for our Association. This revenue is then used to fund the next year’s Christmas Lights and Street Party, plus other WBA initiatives. Donations are given every year to needy village groups or projects. Examples are: a music centre to our local sheltered housing, Wye Fire Brigade, play mats for Wye Under Fives, trampoline for the Youth Club, football kit for the junior football team, a coach outing to Gillingham football match for the Youth Club, donation to the Methodist Church hall kitchen refurbishment and donations to the restoration of Wye Crown and the Cricket
Club and a donation towards the College firework display.
In 2003 the Business Association held a Business Exhibition which gave members a chance to demonstrate their goods and services to residents of Wye and fellow members. There are plans to repeat this successful
event this year.
