| Founded in
1889, Wye Gardeners Society is the
oldest of the Wye organisations and
remains one of the most popular. It has a
membership of over 100 and holds regular
monthly meetings from October to May when
talks are given on plants, gardening,
natural history and the environment. The
talks are followed by refreshments and a
chance to socialise in a friendly
atmosphere. Three shows are held each
year, in Spring, Summer (in which the
local schoolchildren play a large part)
and Autumn. Outings are arranged for the
Summer and a Wye Garden Safari is
organised every other year. Membership
costs £2.00 per person per annum. Entry
to the monthly meetings costs 50p for
members and £1.00 for non-members.
