"Wye Fire Brigade" is part of the Kent & Medway Towns Fire Authority, but although we are linked to a much larger organisation the crew all come from the surrounding area.
Everyone either lives or works five minutes from the fire station in Little Chequers. Fire-fighters respond by car, on foot, or by bike when alerted.
When called upon, the crew at Wye are able to deal with many different emergency situations, from house fires to road traffic accidents. But they are also called upon to deal with other occurrences such as animal rescues and flooding of peoples property.
One of the main aims of the Kent Fire Brigade is to try to prevent fires occurring in the first place. The crew at Wye is now actively involved in community fire safety as well as fire fighting.
If you wish to know more about the work of Wye's Fire-fighters or if you wish to support your community and become a Fire-fighter, please phone South Division Headquarters on 01622 774500 and ask to speak to a Retained Station Manager.
